On June 23, as the July 1st Party Day approached, the company organized a significant team-building event, with over a hundred employees embarking on a journey to the "Artificial Heavenly River" Hongqi Canal. The Hongqi Canal, located in Linzhou City, Henan Province, China, is a water diversion project built by the people of Lin County (now Linzhou City) in the mid-1960s under extremely harsh conditions to solve the severe water shortage problem in the area. Through self-reliance, hard work, and teamwork, they constructed a 1,500-kilometer-long water diversion project. On June 23, we gathered early, led by Master Zhang Linhai from the company's management department, to head to the Hongqi Canal. Gradually, as we got closer and amidst the spirited singing of everyone, my mood became increasingly excited. The anticipation of personally experiencing the weight of history and the wisdom of the people stirred my emotions.
General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out during his inspection in Anyang, Henan, that "the Hongqi Canal is a monument, recording the heroic spirit of the people of Lin County who do not accept fate, do not give up, and dare to fight against heaven and earth." Following General Secretary Xi Jinping's footsteps, we first arrived at the Hongqi Canal Memorial Hall, where we could closely touch history and experience the spiritual core of the Hongqi Canal. With over 2,000 precious cultural relics and sound, light, and video displays, each exhibit seems to tell a touching story, and each photo records the magnificent epic of the people of Linzhou fighting against harsh conditions. We could almost hear the powerful calls of that era and see the figures sweating profusely while wielding hammers. They forged this human miracle with their wisdom and sweat to change their fate and to ensure that future generations would no longer suffer from the torment of drought.
Stepping out of the memorial hall, we walked along the channel of the Hongqi Canal towards the mountains. Along the way, we occasionally stopped to observe the channel that has withstood the test of time and remains sturdy. Every stone and every grain of sand embodies the blood, sweat, and wisdom of the people of Linzhou. Here, we deeply understood the true meaning of "self-reliance and hard work" and felt the noble spirit of "unity, cooperation, and selfless dedication."
Inspired by the spirit of the Hongqi Canal, we became more determined to integrate this spirit into our work and life, taking practical actions to practice and pass it on. We want to be like those iron girls and steel boys, loving our country and our enterprise, uniting the strength of the team, not fearing difficulties, and not shying away from hardships, using our wisdom and strength to create a better future.
