The company organized dumpling-making for employees during the dog days of summer.
July 15th marks the first day of the dog days of summer. General Manager Liu Changsheng specially suggested that all employees enjoy hot dumplings for lunch. In Chinese tradition, there is a saying: "Eat dumplings on the first day of the dog days, noodles on the second, and pancakes with eggs on the third." The reason for eating dumplings on this day is twofold: first, it coincides with the wheat harvest season, and using freshly milled flour to make dumplings symbolizes trying something new; second, the shape of dumplings resembles a gold ingot, and the word "fu" (福) sounds similar to "fu" (伏), thus eating dumplings on this day symbolizes "gold ingots bringing fortune." Under the organization and leadership of Director Liang Maoqing, the cafeteria staff began their preparations early, making the dough and preparing the dumpling filling. Early in the morning, the female workers energetically made dumplings in the cafeteria, rolling the dough and filling them with ingredients, their movements skilled and vigorous, creating various shapes of dumplings, making the scene particularly heartwarming. At lunchtime, employees gathered in the cafeteria, enjoying the delicious dumplings and sincerely thanking the company leaders and the female workers.
