In truth, there wasn't a real road; only a makeshift, thorny slope previously carved out by firefighters. We battled the wind, climbed with heavy loads, carrying ample firefighting supplies and luggage on our backs, and heavy thermoses in our hands—vital supplies urgently needed by the firefighters at the front. Our responsibility extended beyond transporting supplies to clearing any remaining embers to prevent further spread. Atop the mountain, the wind howled like a demonic roar, plummeting temperatures below freezing. At 1 AM, the command center issued an urgent notice: a new fire source was detected behind the mountain peak. Fueled by the wind, the fire rapidly advanced toward our location. We had already cleared a space as a temporary shelter. Exhausted by midnight, we tried to drink some of our water, only to find it frozen solid. Facing the changing fire situation and the command center's orders, we could only remain on standby. This wait lasted for several long hours until 5 AM, when the fire was extinguished by the swift response of the rescue team. This is the Xin Kai spirit: responsible, responsive. In the face of difficulty and danger, we never retreat, contributing our strength to safeguard our homes and the lives and property of our people.
